Veracity Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Technical Specialist to join our engineering programing support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The specialist will provide authoritative leadership and technical advice to other members of the team.
What you will get to do
- Responsible for receiving, managing, and tracking all IT Software assets.
- Provide daily and long-term management of software. This includes planning, monitoring, recording, and tracking software licenses to ensure compliance with license agreements and usage standards, service agreements, maintenance and warranties;
- Identifying savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services;
- Assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. Develop and implement procedures for tracking IT software assets.
- This position is responsible for the interaction and engagement with the Asset Management federal lead and COR
- Developing and maintaining well documented policies, standards, processes, controls, and workflows that enable software asset management throughout all stages of the software lifecycle;
- Entering and maintaining information on software assets into the approved asset tracking system to address budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contracts (maintenance and service agreements), and cost;
- Assist in the development of reporting to address management requirements to obtain information;
- Providing recommendations for software procurements based on utilization and support needs;
- Serving as a liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast future technology needs;
- Assisting with the implementation, management and use of software discovery processes and procedures to aid in accurately tracking software deployed;
- Defining metrics, gather data, and reports effectiveness of IT software asset management processes; and
- Providing recommendations for improvements that will aid in effectively and efficiently managing software assets throughout the FAA organization.
What is preferred you bring to the position
- Experience in maintaining hardware and software inventory;
- Strong knowledge of software/hardware asset life cycle management processes planning, acquisition, deployment, monitoring, and disposal;
- Strong knowledge utilizing and implementing software asset management tools, including automated discovery configuration; and
- Desired-CITAM: Certified IT Asset Manager OR CSAM: Certified Software Asset Manager.
- Experience in project management is a plus
What you must bring to the position
- 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree or MBA in related field may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree and 3 years experience. PhD in related field may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree and 7 years experience.
- 6-10 years of experience in assessing current, state-of-the-art and industrial trends in the computer field.
- Ability to pass an FAA background investigation which requires Permanent Residency or US Citizenship.
