All full-time and part-time employees are eligible from their first day of employment. Veracity Engineering will match any employee contributions up to 4% of included compensation.
Employees are eligible for health benefits from the first day of employment. Veracity currently has three levels of medical coverage, and additional dental and vision care coverage. Medical and Vision are provided by CareFirst and Dental coverage is provided by MetLife.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Veracity currently offers three types of Flexible Spending Accounts: medical expense, dependent care, and parking expense. Employees may elect to set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible expenses. The maximum election is $2,550 per year for medical FSA and $5,000 per year for dependent FSA. All full-time and part-time employees are eligible to make pre-tax contributions for parking benefits. The current IRS maximum allowance is $255 per month. Parking Benefits are via a FlexSpending type credit card.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
New employees start with 3 weeks (120 hours) of PTO which includes both sick leave and vacation time. PTO accrues throughout the calendar year at a rate based on years of service.
10 paid holidays following the federal holiday schedule. This includes New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Group Term Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
Basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance are provided to all full-time employees in the amount of $50,000 up to age 65 at no cost to the employee.
Voluntary Additional Life Insurance
In addition to the Veracity paid Life Insurance of $50,000 per employee, there is an option for additional life insurance for yourself, spouse, and children, paid for by you through payroll deductions.
Long Term Disability Insurance
Long Term Disability insurance is provided to all full-time employees at no cost to the employee and will pay benefits of 60% of your monthly salary to a maximum of $8,000 per month for up to normal social security retirement age.
Short Term Disability Insurance
Short Term Disability insurance is provided to all full-time employees at no cost to the employee and will pay benefits of 60% of your weekly salary to a maximum of $1,500 per week for up to 11 weeks.
Continuing Education Reimbursement
Veracity Engineering offers its employees tuition reimbursement for successful completion of pre-approved continuing education coursework such as graduate classes, training programs, and seminars. All fees, books, and tuition costs will be reimbursed in full for approved coursework up to a maximum of $3,000 within a 12-month period.
All full-time and part-time employees are eligible to make pre-tax contributions for metro benefits. These benefits encompass covering the cost of commuting on more than 100 area buses, vanpool services, MARC, VRE, and Metro rail, and Metro bus. Veracity Engineering will match any employee contributions up to $50 per month.
